Superintendent's Message

Dear BASD Parents and Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! The first day of school is Monday, August 24, 2026!

It is my privilege to welcome you to a new year of learning, growth, and opportunity in the Bethlehem Area School District. Whether your family is returning to BASD or joining us for the first time, I am excited to begin this journey with you and look forward to all we will accomplish together.

As I begin my first school year as Superintendent, I want to take a moment to introduce myself. I have dedicated my career to public education, serving students, families, and school communities in a variety of leadership roles over the past three decades. Throughout my career, I have worked as a teacher, principal, director of elementary education, assistant superintendent, and superintendent, experiences that have shaped my belief that every child deserves access to an exceptional education and every family deserves a strong partnership with their school.

What drew me to the Bethlehem Area School District is the passion of its students, the commitment of its educators and staff, and the pride this community has in its schools. Throughout the summer, I have had the opportunity to attend many community events where I’ve met families, students, and community members. I have been inspired by the dedication I have seen and am honored to serve a District with such a deep sense of community, Bethlehem pride, and commitment to its students. 

As we look ahead, my focus is simple: ensuring every student has the opportunities, support, and resources they need to succeed. That work requires collaboration, transparency, and a shared commitment among our educators, families, students, the Board of School Directors, and our community partners. Together, we will continue building on the strengths that make BASD a place where every student can learn, grow, and thrive.

As we begin the new school year, you'll notice a few exciting updates across the District. Some changes are designed to enhance the way we communicate with families (Parent Square), while others reflect our ongoing commitment to planning for the future of BASD (District Design Process). Throughout the coming weeks, we'll continue sharing important information and resources to help your family stay informed and connected.

As the first day of school approaches, I encourage every student to embrace the opportunities that await them. Try something new. Ask questions. Challenge yourself. And know that every member of our BASD team is committed to helping you succeed.

To our parents and families, thank you for the trust you place in us each day. We know that educating a child is a partnership, and we value the role you play in your child's success. We look forward to working alongside you throughout the school year.

Together, we will continue building a District where every student belongs, every voice matters, and every future is filled with possibility.
