Pre-K Counts

Pre-K Counts in the BASD:

The Bethlehem Area School District is proud to offer Pre-K in four of our elementary schools. These Pre-K classrooms are fully funded through the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts grant. Students in our Pre-K classrooms have many opportunities to learn, play, discover, and grow. We want this year to be filled with fun and exciting activities that will begin students on the path of successful learning experiences and personal development. Although children go through similar stages in the learning process, we understand that children develop at different academic, social, and emotional rates. Our Pre-K classrooms offer support based on each individual child's needs.

Eligibility:

Families must meet specific income guidelines. A child's eligibility to receive Pre-K Counts funding is based on your family's size and income. To be eligible to receive Pre-K Counts funding, your total annual family income must be less than 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

In addition to meeting strict income guidelines students must turn 4 by October 1st of the year they are registering in order to be eligible for enrollment.

Please understand that there are a limited number of spots available for students and families who meet income and age eligibility as well as other specific criteria. Not all applicants will be accepted for enrollment into this Pre-K program.

Application Process:

If you are interested in applying for the District's Pre-K Counts program or you have questions regarding eligibility, please contact Michelle Valencia, Pre-K secretary, at 610-868-8501 ext 39904.
