    As an equal rights and opportunities agency, the Bethlehem Area School District will not discriminate in its educational and vocational programs, activities, or employment practices on the basis of race, color, national creed, age, sex, ancestry, union membership, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, disability or because the employee is a victim of a violent crime (including crimes involving domestic violence). Announcement of this policy is in accordance with state and federal laws, including Title VI, Title IX, and Section 504.

    Title IX
    Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”) prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Sex discrimination includes sex-based harassment, discrimination on the basis of sex, and retaliation related to complaints of sex discrimination. Sex-based harassment in unwelcome conduct which includes both sexual harassment, including but not limited to sexual assault, other forms of sexual violence and other sexual misconduct, and gender-based harassment. This applies to academic, educational, athletic, and residential programs. 

    In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendment Act of 1972, the Bethlehem Area School District has designated Title IX Coordinators.

    Filing a Complaint
    Verbal or written reports (see Reporting Forms linked to policies below) can be filed with the Title IX Coordinator at any time, including non-business hours. The report can be filed utilizing the contact information above or by any other means that results in the Title IX Coordinator receiving the verbal or written report.
