BASD/Student Assistance Program

  • BASD has a strong history of implementing processes to improve student learning as well as social, emotional, and behavioral health. Through MTSS, Child Study, and the Student Assistance Program (S.A.P.) via the State of PA we have created a culture for student improvement by connecting the interventions and supports necessary to mitigate the barriers to student learning. To continue the positive outcomes for students BASD has streamlined our different processes into one process. The STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROCESS (BASD/SAP) enables staff, students, and parents, to work together to design a plan of interventions based on data and assessment as well as continued evaluation of the plan's effectiveness.

BASD/SAP utilizes Google forms to refer and Google Docs to maintain records of the work that individuals and teams do for the benefit of the student going through the process. All staff will utilize Google forms and docs to record BASD/SAP. The documents create a running record of the communications, interventions, data, and decisions made by the team and the support personnel working with the student. The forms and documents MUST be accessible to the personnel and updated frequently.

BASD/SAP is essential in our compliance with federal and state law (Child Find). By utilizing BASD/SAP we have evidence of an acknowledgment of a concern as well as the documentation of an action.

THIS PROCESS IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST WITH CHILD FIND.BASD/SAP COMPONENTS
